Do you offer financial aid?
Students are encouraged to meet with an Admission Representative to discuss
tuition resources at 773.883.1560 ext. 402 or Admissions@AvedaChicago.com. The Aveda Institute Chicago offers
the following options for financial
assistance:
Carer training loans — available
through SLM Financial Corporation.
Federal Title IV Funding — If
you would like to apply for a career
training loan or Federal Title IV Funding
contact the Financial Aid Officer at
800.216.1950. To ensure timely
processing for applications please apply
at least 90 days prior to your program’s
start date. (Financial aid is available to those who qualify).
To apply for Federal Financial Aid,
students are required to complete the
Free Application For Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA). Log on to www.FAFSA.ed.gov to submit your application. The Aveda
Institute Chicago’s code is 041410.
Financial aid awards are dependent
upon student completion
and the timely return of
necessary paperwork.

Is housing provided?
The Aveda Institute Chicago can assist students in finding suitable housing
by referring to apartment/housing finders. We do not own or operate housing
facilities.

What does the investment for tuition include?
The investment for tuition includes tuition, kit fee and registration.
4.
Am I guaranteed a job once Ive graduated from my program?
The Aveda Institute Chicago is primarily an institution of learning and
does not guarantee job placement. However, with a network of many salons
and spas nationwide, the Aveda Institute Chicago can help you begin your
professional career. Well help you gain the knowledge that you will
need with bi-annual career fairs, career days and self-promotional instruction.

Do you accept transfer students?
The Aveda Institute Chicago will only consider transfer students who are
transferring from another Aveda Institute. Applicants for transfer into
Cosmetology and Esthiology are considered on an individual basis. The
Aveda Institute Chicago may, at its discretion, refuse transfers if admission
requirements, including tuition, cannot be met. Transfer students must
comply with the same admissions procedures as new students. In addition,
transfer students must submit copies of letters of intent and recommendation,
entrance exam (if taken), and final transcripts including hours break
up and GPA from previous institute.
6.
How many hours do I need to be a licensed cosmetologist/esthetician?
To receive a license in the state of Illinois, a cosmetologist needs to
accrue 1500 hours and an esthetician needs to accrue 750 hours.
7.
Where do I take my State Board exam once Ive finished the program?
The State of Illinois handles all examination and licensing. The two main
testing locations for the State Board exam are Chicago and Springfield.

Is there a uniform?
Yes. Maintaining a professional appearance is vital to success. The Aveda
Institute Chicago requires all students to wear a black
shirt, black pants and closed-toed shoes. The Aveda Institute Chicago
will provide each student in his or her kit a smock to be buttoned, clean,
neat and worn during all classroom and clinic floor hours. Identification
badges are to be worn as issued during all school hours.
9.
How many students are in a class?
The cosmetology classes allow for a maximum of 18 students and the esthiology
classes allow for a maximum of 15 students per start date.
